Thermal break technology may not be familiar for all of you...
The idea is to separate an aluminum window or door profile to reduce thermal conductivity from the outside to the inside. There are a few ways to do this, one is called pour & de-bridge which is not a true method of thermal break as it leaves aluminum touching at several points along a profile extrusion thus still allowing heat and cold transfer. The other method which is more prominent among high-end manufacturers such as WinDoor Incorporated is the use of Iso-Bars (also called I-Strut). This I-Strutr method is the most structurally sound and thermally beneficial method of thermally breaking aluminum. The I-Strut is made using a polyamide material with glass fibers integrated to provide maximum strength. The polyamide I-Strut provides around 500 times less thermal conductivity than aluminum thus making the system perform to superior energy standards. The use of high performance glass that WinDoor Incorporated can supply makes an aluminum Door or WinDow the perfect choice.
